Many are 1938,37,36,35 in the Buffalo nickels. Also Have Some Other Silver Coins In Thea Bunch. My question are they more valuable as silver containing coins or say a rare coin value ? Thanks For Taking Time To Advise. I really appreciate it. Sincerer, Brett *** Moved by Staff moved to a more appropriate forum. ***

Those mostly look like nice, problem free VG-XF Buffalo nickels, I would look through for any better dates(most early date nickels and S mint marked ones) and rare varieties(like the 37 D 3 leg) anything that doesn't have problems can probably sold in lots for around 50 cents up to a couple bucks each depending on what's in there and how ebayers feel at the time. War Nickels are pretty much just worth melt value, around 40 85 cents a piece(my mistake my memory is awful the V nickels are similar to Buffalo nickels if they're heavily worn, but worth a bit more in bulk. Others will have more comprehensive advice but that's a good starting point

Other varieties to look for are the 1935-P double die reverse and the 1936-D 3 1/2 legger. Both still show up in bulk lots.

Current melt value (as of today's spot price) on those silver nickels is $.86.

Quite a nice hoard of Nickels , however I don't see anything there that is screaming $$$ . The Buffalos are common dates ,the V-Nickels look cleaned and the War Nickels look worn . Dates and mints to look for : 1937-D 3 legged Buffalo , 1912-S V-Nic . the war Nics are 35% silver

Impossible to value these coins with any accuracy unless you show them one at a time. How many of these 1935-1938 nickels do you have?

Did you think about making sets, putting them in a folder and selling on ebay? I would buy a set of just 40 different dates in a roll. Only issue with this many is that LCS have boxes of these (I got 75% of my Bison nickels from a box), so they won't give you much and selling on ebay or here, you would need to break it up, otherwise you won't get much per coin. The few V nickels might be worth a few dollars sold seperatly.

Probably average out to 40cents per coin. So like $200

Or...give a shot in the arm to hobby and give them to a young collector (under 10 yrs), if you can find one.
Or take a bunch and put them back in circulation to attempt a potential new collector.
