It is rather unwieldy, especially for older people who are not really computer savvy .

Thousands and thousands of images have been uploaded here. So the instructions must work.

There's a slight learning curve, but once you get it, you get it.

I'm not the most tech savvy person around (I hate Windows 10 with a vengeance) but I've never had any problems posting photos.

There's 3 buttons under Quick Reply, and clicking on Switch To Full Reply has what you need to upload pictures.
Perhaps that button should say "Upload Pic's and Text".

What type of device are you using? (PC, iPad, phone)

It's super easy on an iPad since you don't need to mess with image resizing - just pick your size when you select the picture.

I never had any issues. I was able to post pictures the first time. It's user error if you can't post a picture.

Here is the tutorial about uploading and posting images

And here is the CCF Free Image Optimizer to help crop your images.
And please preview your post/pictures to be sure the images are rotated correctly.

Helpful hint that has worked for me:

After resizing and cropping your picture (using the site Image Optimizer) save THAT picture to your photo library and then delete the original picture.
