I found this penny today. Believe it's a strike through grease die cap.

Amazing Greaser - don't know what you mean by Die cap though.

Struck Through Grease, and a fine example at that.
The proof-like rim on the obverse is odd. I wonder if that amount of added material between the dies could raise the pressure enough to square it up like that?

Definitely worth saving in a 2x2. Nice find!

I've not seen a Struck through a capped die on the Shield cents yet. Not sure what side it would be on? But this is just a Struck Through Grease issue. Note the rims on your coin. They are the normal rounded rims. On a struck on a capped die, the rims are more saucer like:

What a great Greaser! I am blown away by just how much detail is missing, that's so cool!

Thanks for everyone's comments. The rim on both sides have nice defined edges.

Gotta love that mint grease--I'd like to find a container of it.

Ok my coin people. I recently thought this was a Greaser but after further investigation found out it's a Die Adjustment coin. Strike through coins only affect one side of the coin. Die Adjustment coins affect both sides because they are used only for strike pressure then disposed of but occasionally get out.

That is incorrect. If you have grease on the hammer die & the anvil die you end up with missing design & devices on both sides.

Die adjustment strike's strike with equal pressure. Lincolns bust is pretty well defined. Coop and other members have already told you what it is in the other thread you posted about this coin. It's a Grease Filled Die
