This one I purchased today online....decided it was time to get one...plus it had a little color which didn't stop me from thinking of it from time to time. Let me know what you think.....Leave a grade....Let the others guess if you already where it was acquired from.

F15 obverse, VF20 reverse.
I'd call this F15, but I think NGC gave it VF20, maybe higher

Strictly speaking, VG-10 here as well.

I see the reverse at least VF-20/25...however with the obverse and the lack of "TY" visible in liberty... got me thinking F-15 Great year and mint no matter the grade...

Old school says Liberty has to be fully readable to make F12-15, so I say VG10 as well.

Quote: Old school says Liberty has to be fully readable to make F12-15 This is true, but also just one feature to focus on. IMO the remaining details, primarily the reverse don't show near enough wear to warrant VG.

Readable LIBERTY should be present for F12 so I don't see how this coin could qualify. Faint old scratches on the obverse hopefully didn't generate a details grade. VG-10 here. Desirable key date, in any grade.

I'm probably way off on this one. I never look at just one marker to determine grade. the markers can get you into range but I look at the overall coin. the amount of circulation wear on this coin imo is better than a Fine coin. date and lettering a very sharp with more meat than you would find on a Fine coin. I think the overall coin has the look of a VF30 coin, however, I would deduct for a weak strike, the lack of all LIBERTY letters present and possible old cleaning (which probably would grade straight) I'm netting it VF20

I'm seeing something on the reverse that I don't believe I've ever seen before on a Barber dime . There's a raised dot between 8 and 9:00; What is that ? I don't believe this coin was ever cleaned . I also don't think it was a LDS . I'm seeing average wear both sides , a bummer about those obverse scratches however in my opinion it won't detail the coin . Everything taken into consideration the coin is in between a F-12 and a F-15 . At the right price I would have bought this Dime also .
