From the look of the surface, first guess is a replica that is plated, but as @ oriole says, a weight measurement can help rule that in or out.

It is a counterfeit (fake). You can look it up on Daniel Sedwick's site where he has a large list of Fake Cobs. (Look under modern pirates on his website) This one is known as FC53663. Been around ebay for years, popping up now and then with a new seller each time.
Where did you acquire the coin?

What he said, except that this isn't nearly faithful enough to the originals to be considered a "fake". Really just a tribute replica, one that should only fool an extreme novice.
