I am wondering what you all think about this coin? In my very humble and limited experience, I have seen lots of inconsistency in how Flowing Hair coins are graded, especially with a number of coins being given grades that seem a lot more generous than what I would expect.

I'd venture XF-45 sounds about right. Hair is sharp and the devices generally strong, surfaces are even and pleasing. Nice coin.

It looks like some luster is retained hugging the devices. There's some central strike weakness, but I'd say AU-50.

First thought was XF45 but with minimal circulation hits, relatively clean surfaces, I'd even venture a weakly struck AU.... AU50? Maybe

XF45 possibly AU50

consistently weak strikes during these early years makes grading more challenging. TPG's are more lenient when grading them. one must learn how to determine weak strike from circulation wear. looking at the highest devices helps as in this case they are sharp and well defined. date, lettering, beading & stars on the obverse and beading, lettering, branches and leaves on the reverse. it even appears to have a touch of luster hanging around some of the devices

I can see anywhere from EF45 to AU53 on this coin. it's a toss up to me.
