Any concerns with this half other than maybe an old cleaning? The denticles bother me a little, but I have no experience with this series. I'm trying to decide whether or not to bid on it at a local auction. Thanks. Extra thanks if you give me an opinion on fair value (if there are no other alarms). No better pics available, sorry.

Incomplete milling is not uncommon in Bust halves with late state dies. This one is an O-103 (R-2) that looks like it has low AU sharpness. But I'm not sure whether that's spotty toning or early corrosion on the obverse. Either way it's not terribly attractive. Hopefully you can see it in hand if it's a local auction.

I'm not a particularly big fan of the coloring on this one either.

The wear on the coin is XF/low AU. My concern would be possible environmental damage, low eye appeal, and there are a couple of rim dings around the date. If I was bidding on the coin from these photos, I am in the $200 to $250 range.

Decent for the grades. What looks like rim bumps below the date are often un centered edge lettering pushing up the rim. If you like it, I say go for it.

Suppressed luster, probably an old wipe. AU53 details sounds about right.

with the others high EF or low AU, the denticles get me too, I'd pass if there are rim dings to go along with them, it looks like it.

I'm at EF45 Details, the denticles bother me and possibly an old cleaning. If I was looking to fill a hole... I would be in the $300-$350 range. I've only dabbled in the early halves and my experience is limited.

AU53 sharpness, could possibly be details.

It's definitely somewhere in the high EF / lower AU range, and either grade/details.
IMHO, this one depends more on the price than the grade. It definitely isn't a coin that is in a "gotta have it, because I'll never see one again" category. Would you be happy looking at this coin a year from now, at the likely price?
If the price is low enough, maybe? If it's in the AU straight grade range, it's way too ambitious for the eye appeal.

@captaincoffee, as these aren't cheap, I would really suggest a slabbed one or offer a lowball price. The capped bust are more a specialist field and I know very little about them.

I could see an AU55 here. I like what I see.

AU-53. These's a few small rim nicks but I don't think it would be enough for a "details" coin.
