PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 75 examples exist of this date, in all grades. That would make this (probably) the rarest coin in my collection. What do you think?

Yowza! That's a really nice coin.
The no motto reverse types wear a bit differently than the motto reverse. I'm in the mid-AU ballpark here. The obverse looks AU-55, but the reverse looks closer to AU-53. That's as far as I feel comfortable going. I'll take my seat, shut up, and listen to the gold experts now.

AU-55 sounds right to me as well. Super coin.

Great looking half eagle, I'd say AU-55.

Thanks for the comments! PCGS grade is AU-53 which I think is fair. The coin has quite a lot of prooflike flash in the fields. It's a beauty and a welcome addition to the collection.
