mcshilling Pillar of the Community Canada 9160 Posts	Posted 10/08/2021 3:40 pm Well I was doing my normal roll search of about $225 mixed rolls. Nothing out of normal till I got to the nickels, first roll had a US on both ends ended up with a full roll of US. Most of the are in the 70's about VF35 to XF45 but at the last part was 1952 - 46 - 41 (2) all about VF30 than I got a 1915 for sure XF45 Pics later I'm happy since I can't get to the US to get roll to go through. Not the best with a hand held. I think the oldest nickels I have ever come across from the states are 1963, Canada I think 1947(though I have not looked through as many nickels and dimes) that definitely sounds like a nice jackpot to me. Funny, I lived near the border a good deal of my early life life where Canadian and US coins mingle regularly. My Grandfather had laundromats so we went through a lot of change weekly. I filled all the holes in Whitman folders back then from 1936 up for Canadian pennies through quarters, but never found any Canadian coin older than that (well, OK one or two smooth-backed King George V quarters and dimes). Once in a while you'll find one from the 1930s in a roll stateside, but rarely older. Must have been a small nickel collection turned in to the bank.
