Not seem one quite like this before. "Sunburst" lines on both sides. Is this from a defective planchet or die? Any ideas?

The 'sunburst' lines (sometimes called Starburst) are metal flow lines from an ageing die. The repeated impacts during the minting process cause these lines to develop on the dies and then transfers them to each coin that is struck after they form. This would be a Late Die State (LDS) strike almost to the Very Late Die State (VLDS) strike. The die really should have been retired, was used past the limit of its working life.

The doubled rim on the obverse looks like a MisAligned Die strike or MAD.

Yes, aging die--die deterioration. And, a minor die misalignment on the obverse.

A nice example of a misaligned die, it's fairly off but not enough to give the coin any premium. And a late die stage as well. A good educational piece.

Those I believe are polishing lines you're seeing. No planchet error.

Also, you have a slight MAD (Mis Aligned Die) coin, but very slight (no premium, sorry).
