Mine haven't changed a whole lot from last year.
1) Make some more progress on my U.S. type set. The remaining holes are either the much pricier one or ones I've had great difficulty finding "just the right coin" in the grade I want, so if I can get two or three this year I'll be happy.
2) Continue picking up keys, semi-keys and main varieties for the 20th century and late 19th century series. That's a bit easier to make progress on; for example, I just recently picked up a 1942/1 Mercury dime and a 1909-S/Horizontal S Lincoln Wheat cent.
3) Continue working on my U.S. and Confederate currency type sets. Also an easier goal, as I still have a lot of more common types to acquire since I only started these sets in 2019.

I'm not sure how many coins I bought last year - certainly fewer than previous years, so if I'd be happy to not go backwards even further.

Edit: Some good looking additions there HF

Wow, just realized we're 4 months into the year. I haven't accomplished much .

Did pick up a nice San Diego 50c. Silver Commem to finish that section off in my 7070.

Near completed my cherried 2 feather buffs and have added many more varieties than expected.

A lot of swinging and missing on my registry buff set. Lost out on a couple auctions. What few I have found for a BIN are priced way too strong. Hesitated on a nice MS65 1919 at my last coin show, went back and it was gone.

Yikes! Already end of first quarter!
So ...

1. Add early dated coins or coins attributable to a specific date from the 15th c. (similar to @j1m's goal). The "guardrails" on this hunt are to keep within my existing collecting themes (Low Countries, coins with images of saints, Poland). Added a Florence grosso datable to 1405.
2. Same goal for 14th century (and earlier if possible) where I am missing 1390s, 1350s, 1320s, 1310s. Won a Florentine grosso datable to 1347, and a quattrino datable to the 1370s. Neither in hand yet.
3. Continue to selectively build my collection of coins with images of saints. Acquired a Saint Barbara coin of Mantova (not yet in hand due to Italian antiquities law .
4. Continue to build the Numista catalog for medieval Low Countries. I got involved in this in the second half of this year, so it wasn't on my 2021 goals. A great educational opportunity for me, but still a lot of work to be done. I will just say that the time I am spending on this has reduced my time for spending money on new coins, and that's not a bad thing given how much I spent the last three years.

May as well update mine ... Me complete my Indian cents finally (since February) with the 1909-S, found the 1839 head of 1840 large cent (both of these on the same day from a very nice coin dealer) and a smattering of other nice finds along the way. My world set is up to 229 countries so far, and I upgraded several countries with higher value ones.

Nice updates!

I have got nothing.

I chickened out of the coin show in February and the one thing I bought from the mint has not shipped yet.

1. I have two holes left in my x82 date set to have all the centuries. 318BC and 482 AD. I'm yet to establish a coin was minted dated to 482AD, though.
2. Continue learning about Buffalo nickels and adding some pretty specimens to my AU/BU set.
3. Add a couple dates to my date sets of Capped Bust Dimes and Half Dimes and early large sets and half sets (Liberty Cap and Draped Bust).
4. Continue working in my 1882 Indian cent error and variety set.
5. Any nifty x82s I come across.

1. No closer on a 318BC or 482AD
2. Found some eye candy AUs at the right price I'm proud of. These guys are sure addictive :)
3. 1804 and 1806 Half Cents and 1829 dime found.
4. Nothing priced right-ish come up recently.
5. Scored my die clashed 1982 dime to start the year. It rocks!

Not a lot of progress in the first three months; I've gone to a few coin fairs in late February/early March, but since then I hadn't gone anywhere, and with the economy being what it is I'm not even sure it's worth going.

Or, for that matter, whether some of what I was intending to go there for is still legal to buy...

1) Get some more missing dates for my OFEY
1a) In particular, fill in the remaining post-1720 holes (2022, 1844, 1781, 1756, 1755, 1729, 1727, 1723, 1722) 1844, 1756 added.
1b) Try to fill in the other post-1700 gaps as well (1719, 1716, 1714, 1712, 1711, 1709, 1708, 1705, 1702, 1701, 1700) None of those, and I'm not even sure about 1719.
1c) If possible, try to get an unbroken line even further back (good luck, it gets really bad past 1700) I think I added a few more 17th century dates, but otherwise, yeah, good luck with that.
1d) Take some pics of the more recent dates for How Far Back Can We Go 7th edition... older dates too if it has time to get that far 7th edition is stalling, but I really should get around to that just in case.

2) Related to the above: get some (more?) dated Islamic coins from the 15th century AD Not that I can recall.
2a) Non-Islamic dated (and/or single-year-type) coins from the 15th century AD would be welcome, but unlikely to fit within my budget Lol no.
2b) Dated coins from before the 15th century are useful as well, though I already have a bunch of those A few ancients, I think.

3) Get to 400 issuers on Numista (currently 393) This one is completed at 402.
3a) Extension: get to 400 issuers without notgeld (currently 374) Now up to 383; German principalities don't count as notgeld.
3b) If possible, also get to 250 countries (currently 240) Still 240; not a lot of opportunities to add more.
3c) Get to 500 issuers on Numista (currently 402)

4) Get to 400 banknote issuers on Numista (currently 266) 271.
4a) Alternate version: get to 200 banknote issuers without notgeld (currently 135, I think; I have a lot of notgeld) None of the five new issuers were notgeld, so 140?
4b) Also get to 150 banknote countries (currently 119) 124. I really should make a list of what I don't have yet.

5) Fill some of the remaining holes in my Dansco 7070 album Not yet, alas.
5a) In particular, get at least one more classic commemorative, and/or at least one more Seated Liberty silver None of those.
5b) If it shows up within my budget, get an Arrows & Rays quarter and/or half dollar, even though the 7070 doesn't have holes for them Good luck with that.
5c) In theory, same for a CC mint coin (any denomination), but that's a long shot Not in this economy.

6) Get at least one more coin for my Romanian type set attempt (...also figure out what exactly I still don't have) Working on it. The listing of what I don't have, I mean.
6a) If I can find some Mongolian coins I didn't have yet, that would be cool as well Doesn't look like I got any. But I'd probably need a listing too at this point.
6b) Same applies to Icelandic and Israeli coins... I forgot what other countries I'm trying to do a type set for. Belgium? Yeah some listings would really help.

7) Formalize my USSR non-commemorative type set progress, figure out what (if anything) I'm still missing, and get it (...discounting the gold, which is out of my budget, and probably never circulated anyway) Stuck at "formalize". And the 1924 ruble will be tricky.
7a) If that turns out to be easier than expected, try the (base metal) commemoratives too See above.

8) Formalize my Russian Empire AE type set, and fill at least some of the holes Did fill some holes, formalization pending.
8a) Some more of the silvers would be nice as well (AFAIK there are too many rare ones to do any type set work) Doesn't look like I got any.

9) Formalize my 18th/19th century Swedish AE type set attempt, and fill at least some of the holes No new Swedish coins since January 9th, I think.
9a) If my brief interest into those coins shows up again in 2022, do something similar with 19th and/or 20th century Portuguese coins Too early to tell at the moment, but might as well try to make a list at some point.

10) If prices manage to get back into a reasonable range, finally get a gold coin Not in this economy.
10a) If I find any platinum within my budget, get that too Definitely not in this economy.
10b) Can I manage a non-MT thaler? This actually seems doable compared to the last two? But not yet.

11) Add some more ancient coins to my collection, especially in areas where I'm still lacking Yup.
11a) Add at least one more of the first 17 Roman emperors (Julius Caesar to Marcus Aurelius) Would you believe Galba?
11b) Add at least one more 5th century Roman emperor and/or empress (I already have most of the common ones so this will be hard) Marcian, which was the last common one left, I think?
11c) Finally get a 6th century BC coin Not in this economy.

12) Get a coin from each decade up to 1500 (currently missing: 1680s, 1600s?, 1580s, 1540s, 1500s) Nothing from this period.
12a) Also figure out which decades I'm missing in the 15th and 14th centuries, and fix the gaps if possible A project for later. Starting with identifying some of my Islamic coins.

TL/DR: a bunch of nice ancients (which don't really show up on the goals), a bunch of neat German States stuff, otherwise mostly stymied by political problems.

Quarterly Update:

1) Continue with my ATB silver proof set if the price of silver drops substantially below $20/oz. Still on hold. Bought some halves for the stack instead.
2) Pick up cents, "stuivers", "dubbeltjes", "kwartjes", "rijksdaalders", and commemoratives for a good price to slowly complete my Kingdom of The Netherlands Type Set. Has been very slow going. Might pick up another Rijksdaalder soon, but I think I need to visit coin shops in Holland to make significant strides towards completing the type set.
3) Wondering about collecting crown-sized 18th century silver coins from Europe. Silver ducats from The Netherlands look nice, but may switch to other jurisdictions. Ordered the book "German Talers, 1700-1800" by Davenport to see if anything piques my interest. Decided to continue with collecting silver ducats. Plan to use Lighthouse Everslabs for storage.
