I have decided to upgrade my Rossy dime collection - with that I went and bought Uncirculated dimes (still in the Cello) from 1968 to 1999 in hopes of getting a few good full torch dimes out of it. My current dimes in my album are from circulation and are at various stages of wear. My purchase price for the coins was only $37.00 USD. We'll see once I open the cello and photograph them individually.

Best guess is you will get 5-10. Probably in the years 81, 84, 88, 89, 96, 98, 99. Good luck! I have extras for trades!!!

Thanks, I do hope to find more than that, but at least I know that they are all uncirculated.... My next step is too upgrade my '46 to '67 (which may get expensive).

Even though a lot of people do not collect Roosevelt dimes.I love them.Started collecting them years back and I bought a lot of cello enclosed 1965 dimes.Looked through them and sent best to ANACS. I now have the top two pop on 1965 dimes of SMS and business strike. I have two 1965 SMS FSB MS69 and two 1965 MS68 FSB dimes. They are both unbelievable beautiful dimes.I was just lucky to get them back them. I like buying mint sets and going through them for tough to find high MS coins. Good luck in your searching. Also found a 1984 P dime which graded MS 68 FSB.

Impressive work, SaturnD51! I really love my Roosevelt dime Dansco album. It may be the lightest album I have, but had a lot to look at in one place.

So I just learned in the grading forum that I have been too strict with my fb designations. I have been only attributing fb if I find them in full torch as well. Seems PCGS only requires the bands for fb. NGC uses ft which requires both fb and ft. Not sure if NGC gives Roosevelt's fb designations tho. Now I have to go back through all my Roosevelt's that I passed on and relabel my 2x2's. And pick up some nice silver ones from my LCS that I passed on because they were not living up to the ft I was looking for which may be impossible to find in some dates and mints. Don't get me started on proof like and deep proof like

I think that PCGS uses FB over FT because the bands are higher than the torch and there will wear down first before the torch bundle will. So in a sense, you cannot have FT without having FB too.

That's what I thought too! The thing is tho, hits break the vertical lines. These hits will prevent a ft from NGC (although they may allow a small amount of minor ones ). Looking at an MS67 in the grading forum these marks did not prevent a fb from PCGS.

Good point on the hits and dings on the torch, hadn't thought of that.

If I can get my photography skills together I will post some of my higher FSB Roosevelts.

I have been building my FT collection for about 15yrs. It's fun, a challenge and most not to expensive. The 1970's dimes have been the harder group for me to find in ms66/ms67 FT. If you have time and wish to take a look, this is my NGC registry set... https://www.NGCcoin.com/registry/co...sets/253477/
