Just a large die break. Nothing has broken off the outside of the die, so it is not a Die Cud. Looks like a future coin maybe a Die Cud, if the die continues to crack like it is doing now. There might be a listing for this on Cuds on Coins? They might be interested in what it looked like before the Cud if it is listed?

Very nice @gor and as noted by @sil, there seems to be two separate areas of breakage on the die that struck this coin.

Congrats on a nice modern Cud. They are hard to come by.

That they are at petespockets I'd say more of the bigger ones tho like this. This Cud for instance not many know it exists so scarce. I've managed to find 2 2015 Cuds and have two more in my collection I bought.

And quite a few of the modern Lincoln Cuds seem to be in this location. There must be something about the modern design that puts extra stress in this area of the die to make it fail.

As others have said, the later stages of this breakage pattern constitute an elongate Cud. Many Cuds do not extend down the die neck; instead they reflect loss of metal from just the die face. This can occur when a single shallow flake spalls off the die face or, as in this case, a series of smaller breaks coalesce into a single die void.
