https://www.ebay.com/itm/1957-D-Jef...363720510126I didn't pay much attention to these. Paid $10 pulled one out and quickly just threw them in the junk pile. Not worth the cost to ship them back. Now I'm getting a little more upset. Did some research here and found out he's a known bad ebay seller. Macvanderstein rare coins. One I want to bring it to light again here. Two I need to leave feedback. Three, what else should I do. I want to cause damage but in the most effective way. I don't want to 'work it out' with him. Not worth my time. Plus, not worth the $10. I think paying it forward to other potential victims is worth my time and efforts! How should my feedback go? Simply, 'obviously wizzed/cleaned coins that seller did not disclose.' What else should I do? Edited by captainkurt 03/16/2022 9:40 pm

I purchased from the seller listed and had a great experience and if you look at his rating his feedback is very high. I would buy from him again.

I've picked up a few items from this seller over the last few years--nothing extravagant--just modest things. Had no issue with what I received--I can only speak to my experience. I can think of a few sellers who 'should be taken down' before this one. Just my opinion.

I should be clear that I didn't look at the photos closely enough. My bad, but these were listed as ' choice gem brilliant Uncirculated mint luster' in the uncirculated category. Not one is uncirculated. A reputable seller would not list this over and over and over again. Let alone altering $1 coins! Imagine what he does to more expensive coins! Just untrustworthy.
What's more unbelievable is me buying them.

Leave the feedback you feel is appropriate.
In the future, check the Seller's feedback before bidding and buying. Sometimes reading between the lines provides info, too!

With this seller I have gotten some good buys, but you have to do some hard searching.

Another way to correct this is to open a case with ebay involved. Item not as described would be the issue and he would have to make things right. Unfortunately I have had to do this a number of times over the years with various items and it has not taken much time at all for me. When ebay tells them to make it right, they typically just do it for fear of ebay retribution. I even had one guy who was smart aleck with me (sold a defective tool) when I contacted him and told him I would open a case. I tried again with same response, so I opened the case and let ebay take care of it. I had a paypal payment arrive from him the next day.

Quote: How should my feedback go? Simply, 'obviously wizzed/cleaned coins that seller did not disclose.' By all means leave a negative feedback but from reading his other negative feedbacks, I'm sure that he would just say to return if not satisfied. This is all that he is required to do. With close to 35 thousand positive posts, it would be hard to get him removed.

He replied to your review, made me laugh with his response and honestly for a $1 item, just return it. The amount you spent venting doesn't compensate for the value of the coin.

The '57-D looks like a coin struck from very tired dies to me, especially the reverse.

Ha! Sealed bank roll! That is funny! I have never seen a mirrored nickel come out of a roll. Now I have 4 more feedbacks to mess with him! I really don't care but I just dislike dishonest people. I'll do one feedback a day.
To those who have gotten good results from this seller, I'm happy. He probably has a legitimate side to him. Just a shame he took risks on such a few crappy coins and came across me. I definitely take some responsibility with this one by buying without checking everything out.
Not venting here! Just being informative to the forum, and now I'm just having some fun. Not worth the shipping charge to send back. Let his dishonesty show to those who know and are willing to compare the coin pictures, description, and the feedback like I should have done to begin with.

He has so many positive ratings, I understand he can ask ebay to remove yours (especially if you post 4 negative reviews). If this was me, I would suck it up, return the items and not buy from this dealer.

I've done the same thing, bought a coin, didn't look at the pictures very well, got it, coin didn't look like the picture - but it was the same coin after having some neutral folks here compare it. I ended up culling the coin, but I didn't really blame the seller (MUCH) he didn't describe the coin very well nor did he take great pictures. THAT should have been a red flag, but I didn't see it. In the end I just let the issue go and moved on. It wasn't worth the frustration I was creating for myself. I went and found a better coin from another seller. What I wish ebay would do is create a "do not buy from' list For my account, just for me that pops up and reminds me that the seller was bad or something..

That a good suggestion! Block the buyer should work both ways or there should be a block the seller option. No aggravation here. I'm just curious what he has to say. I'll go easier on my feedback with tomorrows comment. Next up 1955 d Do you think this one came right or of the roll like this?
