I picked up this one for an absurdly low 15 dollars a few years ago (long story... ) but left me quite pleased all around. I peg this one gradewise either EF-45 to AU-50ish, but the question becomes should it get a details designation because of a fancy M(?) lightly scratched above the obverse motto? Other than that, it has very pleasing silver gray color throughout to me (might even have had an old light cleaning which has retoned again). Edited by mrwhatisit 04/06/2022 8:49 pm

Yes graffiti is unfortunate damage. I agree that this would come back as details.

100% a details coin. Not just bullion, this would look great in my album.

Shame about the graffiti. Definitely a details coin. The value is heavily impaired by the damage, but still much better than bullion.

Even with the damage, I would pay more than bullion. I would pay 15.00 any day of the week in lieu of having a typical worn piece in my album for this date.

Graffiti and it looks cleaned to me. Not a bad folder hole filler though. John1

Agreed with the prior comments. A shame for the graffiti.

This then begs the question, can some coin restorers fill in scratched coins and literally make them formerly scratched? I was also leaning to a details coin of mine here.

EF Details. The graffiti kills it. As filler coins go, this one is pretty decent. It may make a good starter coin for a YN.
