Awesome story Earl!

You really should put that cardboard plug into the slab it replaced. Your grandpa is smiling down on you very proud inside I'm sure.

Again a huge thank you as well to my CCF family for all the kind remarks.

What a great looking coin! I admire how it isn't the usual Fair 2 or About Good 3.

This was one requirement I had for the collection. My eye appreciates aesthetics and something that worn, while still amazing (understatement) to own, just would not do for me.

I had not thought about that. Good idea! I will take my time with a Dremel tool to crack it out.

Awesome acquisition. Consider adding your coin to the list of 100 Greatest U.S. Coins held by CCF members.

Thanks for this suggestion. I am wondering how in the world I missed seeing that thread before? It's now there with a link to here.

My favorite coin. I've presently got 10 sets of those completed and 2 more almost completed. It's been a 75 year collection.
