This one is a real mind bender. I looks to me like a D mint mark on the reverse of an S mint mark penny. Tell me what you think.

I'll go on record as saying that's not a mint mark on the reverse. Rather, I'm thinking it's a circulation hit/gouge which has shaped metal into a D-like feature. Pareidolia is cool, mostly.

Why do you keep posting in the support forum? This is the 4th topic in a row I've had to move.

How would you get a mm on the reverse of a coin.

just damage as mentioned, the hit looks like it came in low angle and digging a short furrow, thus piling up the metal on the opposite side of the gouge. Like a bulldoser pushing dirt.

The forum is broken down into many sub forums. If you click on 'All Forums' you will see many other listed under it. such as " US coins and Currency Discussion Forums " then under that are sub forums, like "US Modern Coins" then even more sub forums - "US Modern Variety and Error Coins", which happens to be the one we are looking at right now. Under each heading there is a list of what to post where. Just like this one the list includes "US Modern Coins: Lincoln Cents, Jefferson nickels, Roosevelt dimes, Washington quarters, Franklin halves, Kennedy halves, Eisenhower dollars, SBA Dollars, Sacagawea dollars, Presidential dollars, American Innovation Dollars.
So in effect modern coins are posted here, older classic coin go in another area. and so on...

Clear as mud, huh?

Use the "New Topic" selection in the forum you want it to be posted. That is an easier way to post here.
