This looks like a progression of SKH-08 & 09 but the two die cracks have fused together here. What do you think? I've sent this to JC so we'll find out soon.

I'm interested to see where it nets out, but I think it most looks like a pre Cud.

I see that the edge is also damaged (cracked) I think. can you post up an edge on image of the area where your spike is please? the 'crack' looks too wide and quite possibly a small lam right next to the rim.

Cool find! Looks to be COC's SKH-1c-1958D-08 & 09 and a rim to rim, no mention of a Cud or pre-cud.

Then an pre-cud, which is possible I will opt for an aging partial cracked planchet. The bronze react like this over the years. I see also a very small crack on the side of the coin. We will see others opinion.

Sorry for a terminology which it is not employed normally (lam), but I like to go with the correct one (metallurgical).

Which is what I stated above and I'll stick with Silviosi on that part. But there is more going on here too.

To be a Retained Cud, the design would need to be altered by a rim to rim die crack.

There is no rim to rim issue here. So it is not a retained issue.

I took a look at the edge with a loupe and there is nothing unusual to see. Magnification and lighting tricking perception I think.
