I'm completely of the mindset that a seller has the right to ask whatever they want but this seems a bit crazy to ask almost 100x the NGC price guide. Given that the seller has a red star and only seems to sell coins and bullion I'm guessing they are someone who is aware of the value of what they're offering out. Am I being naive and just missing what would justify this amount of premium?

Sellers can ask whatever they want for a coin. In this case, the seller is asking the moon for a common coin. This coin should never sell for this amount, but who knows, maybe someone who just won a billion dollar lottery that knows nothing about coins, will start their collection here.

Maybe seller doesn't know the difference between an S and P VDB? Still asking double even if it was an S.

He has a number of VDBs listed, he's asking almost $70K for this one.

70k! Wow, I'm actually kind of impressed that someone would be bold enough to ask 1000x market value. Along the way the seller has to have had some items transact at way inflated prices otherwise why bother. More power to him/her if that has happened I guess but I would feel bad for the buyer who torched a lot of $.

The seller can ask what he wants, you can buy it if you feel the price is right or ignore it if the price is high. I just ignore items for sale like this.

I'm guessing it's a mistake. I once listed something and didn't notice that I omitted the decimal point in the price. It ended up looking just like that.

Edit: Actually, I just saw the other VDBs he has listed for exorbitant prices. Guess it's a case of wishful thinking...

Agreed hfjacinto but I do have a slight morbid fascination with things like this that are in or near the realm of crazy or unusual to see if they eventually do transact.
