This one has a lot going on. It looks like it possibly has been double struck. The second way off center and the reverse is cupped with hardly and detail. This is above my pay grade(most peoples pay grade). Thanks for your comments and any help is appreciated.

I think the cladding fell off of different planchet. The cladding got into the chamber and was partly struck (Showing devices from both sides of the coin) But it would not be thick enough to strike up any of the devices. So it doesn't seem possible to me. Probably Mike Diamond has an idea of what exactly happened?

This clad layer entered the striking chamber by itself and was die-struck on both faces. Part of the clad layer was folded over before the strike and received an impression of the top of Roosevelt's head. The southwest corner may show evidence of a straight clip or perhaps it was damaged before the strike. The odd textures on the reverse face are mostly die flow lines from the field portion of the die.

Thanks guys. Two of my favorite coins. Definitely my two favorite mint error coins.

Also I'm thinking the "clip" is adjacent to the fold and may actually be the other point of contact when the cladding was folded.

This is why I love error collecting and at the same time question my sanity.

Great error! Thanks for posting the detailed images as well. I find the fact that it's a "Mint State" coin to be quite interesting.

PCGS took a little more time with this label.

I also have another crazy miss graded PCGS coin I'll post in a couple of days. It's a counter brokage labeled as a capped die strike. Which I guess is technically correct but not what should be on the holder.

Very cool! I like the way they shorted "before" to save room and get it all in there. Those new pics are great!
