The way the dies that make coins are produced, it is impossible for this to have happened at the mint. It is not a mint error.

The letter I took a hit and the metal moved over to the N making it look like a W. We see this kind of thing a lot on the forum.

As stated, just damage from probably a Coin Wrapping Machine,
we see these quit often on here.
Also your poll doesn't make sense, both boxes are the same.

I'm seeing circulation damage--likely caused by a vending machine. A full, sharp pic of the oversee will tell us more--whether said damage occurs elsewhere, out toward the rim in a circular fashion.

Vending machine damage, you can see it also took out bottom of the "t" in trust.
