Hi everyone. I have a odd question. I found a 1979 no mint no face quarter. To me it looks like it was off struck a little. Thoughts

Looks to me like post-strike damage of a rather violent nature--coin didn't leave the striking chamber in that condition.

Definitely PMD, looks like it has been ground down.
It is impossible for that to happen during the striking of the coin.

The rim is only partly intact due to the heavy wear, but from what remains it appears that the dies were not misaligned. This one would be a spender for me.
