I thought you would like to see an extreme example of what I'm guessing is either DDD or MD or ?. The movement is not out towards the rim. The Lincoln head is tripled in some places. The hair line is doubled and so is much of the face. Liberty is tripled and IGWT moves sideways. Hope the photos show what I'm trying to say. Love this coin. I don't see any 1999 P coins while looking at Vista, etc. Thanks in advance for your input.

@jfe, this coin is pretty cool—I can see why you set it aside. Step-like doubling that reduces the width of the letters is MD. That is what I think you have here.

Very interesting. LIBERTY is S to N, IN GOD is W to N and the nose is W to E. Maybe I am wrong but IMHO we has Hub doubling and DDO combinate with a small Machine Doubling

Silviosi.. That's exactly why I posted the coin. It goes against everything you guys have "taught" me the past few months.. It didn't fit the DDD markers

and it was totally different from the MD coins posted in the past.

Ok, now I see also the head has S to N. For the past posts you has, I think IMHO each coin could be different. I do not know them. In general I do say nothing if it is not a Quarter, except metalic problems. But this coin really I like and I wait to know exact the Diagnostic. One think is sure we has here HD, DDO and MD. The all three combine I never see before, two of each toghether yes but not three. Very nice find and I hope your coin will be an 62 or 63

Just MD and plating issues, no hub doubling.

Not a DDO, just heavy Machine Doubling post strike. (Note all the affected areas are showing pushed metal, typical for Machine Doubling)

It just doesn't all fit together in my very humble, uneducated opinion. Top of head goes North, nose goes East (triple strike).IGWT goes East and not towards rim. Liberty goes North and not towards rim. Chin goes South. In other words , another spender. Thanks..

with DDD as the die wears out and stretches a bit, the devices will tend to double down and head off in the direction of the nearest rim , hence why you see the 'doubling moving in all directions.

jfeed, in my response, I said MD and plating issues, which it is both, I was just simplifying the "plating" part and should not have. The correct term for the plating issue is "Plating Disturbance Doubling". Here is a link. https://www.error-ref.com/other-forms-of-doubling/

I'm seeing rather pronounced Die Deterioration issues. Nice example. Suggest keeping it as a reference piece.
