In keeping with tradition, I have finally decided upon a competition to celebrate my Pillardom.
The rules.
50 posts to enter.
1 guess per day.
Contest ends Friday April 17 mid afternoon Australian time. (About midnight Thursday forum time)
Short and sweet so I should be able to remember them
The Contest.I have been collecting coins for well over 20 years now, if I were to add up the face value of all my
Australian coins only, what would the figure be in dollars and cents?
To make it more interesting, I am going to include all my pre-decimal coins.
For those not familiar with Australia's currency system, from 1910 to 1964, we used the Imperial system of pounds and pence. From 1966 we have used the decimal system of dollars and cents.
(Does this help with the penny V cent debate? Penny = imperial, cent = decimal

)
To help out a little I will say that
1/2 penny will equal 1 cent
Penny will equal 2 cents
Threepence will equal 5c
Sixpence will equal 10c
Shilling will equal 20c
Florin will equal 50c
Crown will equal $1
I use this method simply because it works, so for the puritans, please don't point out it is wrong.
I will try and keep a running list of guesses, time permitting.
The prize.
A 1937 Australian Crown in Ef condition. This was a two year issue only coin. Size is 38.5mm, weight 28.27 grams, composition 92.5% silver, 7.5% copper.

Good luck.
