Sure looks like damage to me too, but please post a pic of the other side as with this amount of mechanical damage on the obverse, I'd expect the reverse to show some flattening or damage as well. Thx.

Now that's interesting. An accurate weight to two decimal places could tell us more.

Can you post pics of the edge of the coin in the affected areas?

Never mind. To me it appears the coin was clamped down on wood by the 2 flattened spots - rim to the lower left of the bust and on GOD. An attempt to cut it above the date by pressure and then sawing at the upper indent at an angle causing the raised edge under TRUST.
