Hi all Someone is trying to sell these two 1799 liberty dollars. I doubt they are fake because he has two of them. The weight is right on spot. He says they are silver for sure. Help, never bought or seen it before. Sorry he says he has three now. I will fix the post by putting each one in a reply. *** Edited by Staff to crop/rotate/resize images. no expert here...just an opinion ... look at the proximity of the numerals of the date ... poorly done Asian fakes ... silk road specials...

Look fake to me. Asking price is a red flag. Would be worth much more if genuine.

Fake. Worth at least $1,000 US in very low grades.

I don't know anything about these... however, reviewing what the others have posted, that date does look wrong.

These are multi thousand dollar coins. No way they are real. No one would sell $$$$ for $$$
And having 3 of these? Their maybe less than a thousand still around. Highly doubtful these are real.

There are multiple date positions for the 1799 dollar. This one looks like a close match for BB-158. https://www.ngccoin.com/certlookup/6835822-001/30/ That being said, the idea that he has three raw, higher grade 1799 dollars of the same variety raises a lot of red flags, especially if he wants to sell them at a fraction of their value if genuine. Anyone see any diagnostics that would prove they are fake?

Quote: Look at the "R": I wrote a Coin Week article on these Excellent work and great article. They look like high quality fakes, so it's nice to know there are some documented diagnostics to confirm that they are from counterfeit dies.

Why ask us? Buy them and send them to ANACS to certify. They look fake to me but my opinion isn't of any real value.
