I am finally finishing my Barber dime set and just wondering what other sets people enjoy collecting, without breaking the bank, since I need something new to collect? I was thinking Buffalo nickles?

you mean you have completed the Barber dime set minus the 1894-s if you have that coin I want to see some pics.

i have sets of Jefferson nickels, Roosevelt dimes, Sacagawea dollars, canadian cents 1900-present minus the keys I have to get those. and I i need mostly the keys and semi keys for a Lincoln Wheat cent set.

i would say I enjoy collecting the lincolns the most

I would say Buffalo nickels. One of the nicest US coin designs made.

I am working on a Mercury dime set which is reasonably priced other than the 1916-D of course. This would also be somewhat of a natural progression for you I think.

Congrats on completion of the Barber dime set.
I have a complete set of unc and all proof Jefferson's and a UNC set of Franklin's. Peace dollars would be an interesting series and a worthwhile investment I think.
My Jefferson collection is never complete though because I save all the nicest ones I can find. Maybe you need to work on a Type set?

Buffalo nickels can be expensive to complete. I spent a lot less completing the Mercury dimes, but I inherited the 16-D and the 21 dates. Franklin halves are a fairly small set that is less expensive to collect.

damcon3 - You can put together a pretty decent set of Buffalo nickels (minus the 3 "error" coins) for somewhere between $1000 and $1500 if you work at it. My completed sets include Buffalo nickels, Lincoln Cents, Jefferson nickels, Mercury dimes and Roosevelt dimes. I keep "talking" about starting a set of Standing Liberty quarters, but so far that's ALL it is....talk.

I would start on a Franklin half collection. They're fun, large and relatively easy to collect.

I've only completed a BU Franklin set. You can out together a great set without breaking the bank. I love the Buffalo series want to work on a Buffalo set soon but that's a expensive series. Mercury dimes are an inexpensive set too apart from the 16D.
