Finally found a decent one to add to the 7070 type set, in a problem free anacs holder. Sure, it has some carbon spots and strike weakness, far from perfect, but I have been searching forever for an affordable yet decent example. This one has a nice even colored corrosion free planchet, and a great reverse. I am down to needing only one more to complete the 7070!

That's a great looking coin. It's my favorite design for a copper coin, but I don't have one nearly as nice as that.

What nod said - which is the coin you need? (Not that I have it - I don't - just curious!) =)

thanks guys! Here is the original thread to my 7070....also recently purchased a $10 no motto lib, so updated pictures will follow. I'm just missing the "no motto" Seated dollar, another expensive one.

Johnny

I can't hold back on this one.

That is a very nice looking large cent.

I also took the time to go back and look at your type set.
It is one of the nicest sets I have seen.

My set will never be the quality you have put together.

Thank you all for your very kind words! You don't think those carbon spots detract too much from the eye appeal? btw, it is in an ANACS XF-40 slab. I purchased it on ebay, but found the original pictures on the Heritage website, as this sold on Heritage too.

The carbon spots are a little detraction, but not really all that much, especially considering the average specimen you find with older large cents.

Thanks guys! Now, if I can just get shadowcreator to send me his new Seated dollar, my 7070 will be complete.

I didn't even see them until you asked about them! Funny, but true!
