I'd say XF-40, perhaps even 45....looks straight. light wear on the leg and shield, and any pre-25 date that has a fairly strong date should def be a min of Vf, IMO.

IMO xf-45, maybe AU-if that little ding under trust on the obverse wasn't there-still very nice. I love SLQ's in the higher circulated grades.

It's a very nice slq Brian! Just too bad it isn't a "d".... :'-( Anyway, I'd grade it original XF. It also looks like a bit of a misaligned obverse die. Do you agree Brian?

Obviously my "old cleaning" was probably off since the experts disagree :) So I see some lines from NE to SW that tend to run in the fields - especially the reverse. They are the same color as the rest of the coin. Do you think they are die polish lines, normal scratches, or just metal inconsitencies? I pointed out to Brian that I've seen these in a lot of Barber's too.. What makes everyone feel that this look is original (Not questioning, trying to learn so I don't pick up cleaned coins in my collection anymore).

Looks EF-40 easy, with a good shot at 45 if there is some luster remaining. The visible hairlines are probably exaggerated by the photos and the obverse ding isn't severe enough to constitute a "problem" for a TPG. I'd call it a nice, original example of this scarce date. Wish I had one!
