Geepers ... I'm sitting here at 2 years + as a serious collector and tonight hit the 'pause button' to reflect on the variety of coins I am currently pursuing ... writing to share my current sets and wondering how the rest of you are doing.

For me ... it probably looks like I am scatter-brained. Perhaps I need some help as a coin addict?

Soooo ...

I have roll searched 241,600 nickels and need two coins (38-S and 43-D) to complete my circulation strike Jefferson nickel set. Housed in a humble Whitman 9009 through 1961 and a Dansco 7113 which is 1962 to date.

Just recently began cent roll searching ... purchased a few Whitman folders to span the Wheat years and have filled 22 holes in less than 3 boxes searched.

Need one State Quarter in MS (2005 Kansas) to complete my Littelton folder 50 coin set ... all pulled from circulation.

I have a complete PCGS registry set of MS Jefferson War Nickels (11 coins) ... all PCGS MS66 and better. The set needs 4 upgrades to complete a PCGS MSFS set MS66 and better.

I have 12 Liberty nickels XF40-AU55 housed in a Dansco 7111. Goal is a complete 33 coin set in the same grade range ... tough coins to find on the market.

I started a Peace dollar set ... purchased 5 coins from local trusted dealers all PCGS MS64 and PCGS MS65 ... I truly like the series but have not paid it any attention in the prior 6 months.

My pride and joy set is a PCGS registry set of classic silver commemorative ... I am closing in on a MS type set all graded MS64 or better ... have 45 of the 50 type coins all in PCGS holders.

The complement set to my MS classic silver commemorative is a circulated 50 coin type coin set ... some very tough coins to find indeed in circulated condition. I have 26 of the 50 type coins housed in a Dansco 7094. Gotta love my G4 1928 Hawaiian.

I have bags full of foreign coins from my childhood living in Asia .. slowly going through them to learn and assign KM numbers.

So there you have it ... my collection status.

Perhaps I have become a coin addict?

What are you working on and where do you stand?

David

Hehe.. Yups, we have an addict!

That's okay, though.. Nothing wrong with it..
I've been trying to collect everything.. Most of what I have is through circulation.. Circulated coins are more interesting in my opinion..

Working on a Dansco 7113. Trying to fill it from circulation as much as possible. Started it about four weeks ago and currently have 24 holes filled so far. Thinking about starting a 8113 after things settle down.

With over 100 Albums and mostly all full, the list goes on and on and on. For example 12 completed sets of Mercury dimes. Although this is rather a vague statement since the first 6 Albums are the so called Whitman Classics that have slots for the 42/41, 42D/41 and the 45 Micro S. The last 6 are also Whitman but the older versions with only a slot for the 42/41.
Same with many other Albums that were made prior to some info I guess. For example I have a Liberty Head Nickel Albums with a slot for the 1913 Nickel and they just don't pop up in change any more.
Then too I have some Dansco Albums that actually end up with blank slots at the end so have to invent something to put in there.

Completed sets:

Franklin half dollars

1938-1961 Jefferson nickel

Canadian Small Cent 1920-1972

I haven't started a new set in years, but I may start again with an Indian cent album, as Silver and Gold is a little much right now for this collector...

alomst done with my Franklin half dollar Dansco,
working on my 1932-99 Washington quarters,
almost done with lincolns - need 09s, 09svdb and 14-d and some modern proofs
also just started a modern commemorative type.
also working on my 7070 bout half way
got the whitmans semi filled with almost all kennedys, no proofs, all jeffersons, no proofs, missing some silvers and 50-d, 38's,
mercs and roosies in junk silver, but thinking about buying a dansco and buying mint state for those soon.

i am always scouting my local estate sales for good deals on morgans and Peace dollars.

David I feel you, I'm addicted too. So far I have completed the following:
SAC Proofs
Ike's Proofs
Kennedy Proofs
50 State all Proofs

Working on completing my Mint proof set collection, I have 2011 to 1955, the older ones are still a little rich for my blood right now. Working on a complete mint set as well, I have about half the years so far. 3/4 finished with my Jefferson collection, just need mid 90's to present. I have all the Peace dollars except 35, 34 and 21. I am 1/4 of the way through V nickles, I have 4 Morgans right now all XF or higher. I am just starting a Trime collection, I have a 1852 and 53. I have 13 Modern Commemoratives and 3 Early. Plus my mostly complete wheat collection and my 1/2 done mercs plus a bunch of foreign and ancient coins. I Also have a complete 1935 $1 set A-H, 1899 $1, bunch of old $2, confederate money and State issued currency. My favorite is the 1863 $.10 Frac note. Not bad for collecting for just a year.:-)
My wife asked me when will it be enough, I said " It never will be."

Complete circulated sets up to 2011 (6 coin varieties are omitted):
small cents - 1857 to present (FEC, IHC, LWC, LMC, LBC, and LSC)
nickels - 1913 to present (BHN & JMN)
dimes - 1916 to present (Mercury & Roosevelt)
quarters - 1932 to present (Washington, Statehood, ATB)
half dollars - 1916 to present (Walkers not complete, Franklin, Kennedy)
dollars - 1971 to present (Ike, SBA, SAC, NAD)

I have a type set that I created based on the 7070 set. It doesn't have the varieties, but does have a representative of each coin.

I have select proofs/commemorative/coin sets/odd coins that I have collected, but my main focus are circulated US coins.

Among the coin sets/odd coins are the 1925 Stone Mountain Memorial, 1926 Sesquicentennial of America Independence, and several coins from the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, GA.

Nice sounding collection Fuzzy (and others)
I have 8 sets I'm working on, some with more vigor than others.
My only complete sets are the lowly Franklin, kennedy(to present) and roosevelts (to 64).
Not to put them down but they are not all that tough.
My wheat and merc set are both down to one coin each (can you tell I have 2 kids in college).
My proof set collection is complete from 64 to present so I guess you could say I have a complete "s" proofs.
Just starting walkers and Peace dollars, sets I could only dream of owning at one point of my life.
All in all I'm a happy camper and feel very satisfied.
