Purchased a cup of coffee this morning at my local convenience store ... and received this F15 (my grade) 1956-D Washington quarter in change.

Nice cup of coffee ... great change!

Anyone else with recent pocket change silver?

Always a shock to see silver in circulation, my last was a Mercury dime this year.

Especially quarters. I rarely come across silver quarters, and never have found a Mercury dime. Awesome find nickelsearcher. Great way to start the day.

Very nice!

My last silver find in change was a 1944 Quarter. This was few years ago.

Outstanding! Makes me want to start paying cash for stuff just to get the opportunity to get some gems like that.

At NCAA events at University of Texas, concessions are in whole or half dollar amounts, so I always pay in cash at there to get a 50 cent piece back. Have gotten a few 40% Kennedys that way.

Nice one... My last silver in circulation was a 1944-P Jefferson War Nickel a few weeks back... They are still out there...

Was the 56 d made in a type B reverse? I have looked at this pic a few times and see a space between the E&S in "STATES." The other key markers of a type B are too difficult to make out in the pic.

I admit zero knowledge of this series other than to grab all 1964 and prior that are offered as change. Not sure what a Type B reverse is ....

Enlarged photo ... any insights?
