"There was no way we were going to be able to access our account so we just purchased them each as guest. We tried 2 at atime but we were only able to buy them 1 at a time."
At 5:30 I went to the mint website via a link on another site. I was able to immeadiatly log on to my account and place my order. Unfortunatley by then I was placed on a waiting list. Sure hope something works out for me to still get one. If I can't get one through the mint, I'm not getting one.

OK so from what I'm reading on this the 2 sets I ordered at 7:09 pm and got order number for order status on hold, 2 units backordered, Expected to ship on 11/13/2011 is as good as saying I'm not going to get them I guess.Any words of hope that I maybe will get them?

ebay is trying to shut down all pre-sales for the 25th anniversary set. They are telling sellers that they must wait to list until they have the sets in their physical possession and then must include pictures of the actual item for sale (probably usually meaning the sealed mint box) when they do list. It looks like, for now, that people are listing as fast as ebay can delist them but they are being threatened with various sanctions if they keep relisting the sets. This might actually drive prices even higher if sets are only listed as they arrive from the mint. The shipping process could easily take two or three weeks to complete. One goofball even included his/her order number (no digits Xed out). I am amazed at the number of sellers that are quoting the expected ship date as if it is some sort of promise but then don't seem to understand that the sets will ship overnight, going on to say it may be says or even weeks after that that they will be able to ship to buyer. ebay is also telling sellers that Paypal will be the only payment method acceptable for the sets. This is fun to watch!

anyone's expected to ship on date keep going up to the next day ? Mine has went up everyday, started at 11/11/11 and now its 11/14/11 just wondering and thanks Jake

My order status is still "on hold", which as I understand it, means they are still verifying CC info and making sure I haven't ordered more than 5 sets, etc. Estimated ship date for me is 11/13/2011.

Change in ship date, same here, I was originally 11/10 now I've moved back to 11/13. I'm OK with this, I'm just glad I have a ship date for my order. Good Luck to Everyone!

My shipping date is showing up as 11/13/11 now, and the order is still on hold. It looks like the prices are settling down at $600 per set.

ebay really messed this one up...biggest horror story for this Halloween...so may mixed messages...just seems to get worse, year after year, and, they keep finding ways to pull more profits from sellers(adding shipping fees to Final Value Fees)...here's a thought..what would happen if you listed the ASE set in a wrong catagory(Business & Industrial > Printing & Graphic Arts > Bindery & Finishing Equipment), and, stated payment CHECK ONLY...would they catch it(check payment OK in that catagory, saves you the 3% paypal fees)

So after these sets are all in hand, and a possible new ebay rush hits, do people who have seen similar situations (like the 20th anniversary set) think the price will drop below 600? BTW - since this is the most popular thread dealing with these sets, I want to make an official "THANK YOU" to a person who has shown a great attitude of camaraderie towards me concerning these sets. If you read my posts to this thread you will see the mint's computer took away my order from me. The outcome is pending - but I admit to being a little less optimistic as time goes on. However, jgfindring offered a trade for one of his sets that I could not pass up. At the time, his posts show he knew they would rise in price, but he said, Quote:

my order of 3 was canceled, but my order of 5 is going through. I guess the mint is cracking down on the credit card game a bit.

Clair, I did see the one listed with the complete order number. Holy Cow! How stupid. Just begging to get ripped off some how.
