Just a fun size comparison thread  Now, OK, one restriction: if your smallest and largest coin is going to be an American clad dime and an Eisenhower dollar, don't post. Sorry, I just want to cut down on the most likely combination. Everything else is fine. It's preferable that you post more than one image, maybe one with an American penny or 2 Euro cent coin in one of the images so that we can get an idea of absolute size, not just comparative size. OK, here we go!  My smallest coin - an undated (struck between 1901 and 1949) 1 Cash from the Indian princely state of Travancore.  This is how tiny it is.  My largest coin is also my lowest-mintage (~4,000) coin - a 10 kina coin from Papua New Guinea. It's one of the Franklin Mint's pointless sets-only higher-denomination coins, bigger than your typical crown.  Together at last! |

A 1788 French Ecu of Louis XVI (42 mm. and 29.32 grams) and a Roman AE-4 nummis of Valentinian II ((375-392 AD) that is 8 mm. in diameter and weighs a whopping .74 gram.  Paul Bulgerin

My largest coin isn't very interesting, just an ASE. My smallest coin is a "half-crown" that I bought from a private mint. This thing is tiny. Just 10mm diameter.  Edited by Demarco Bishopp

I don't have pictures to prove it, but I'm with the 3 cent silver and ASE group. That azteca coin is amazing! Why do I never see spectacular coins like that until years after they are issued and much harder and more expensive to get? |

Both 2012 Canadian pennies: 5 oz. silver and 1/25 oz. gold.
