There are quite a lot of people from around the world on this forum and each of you has your own coin collection that you are currently collecting. Be it coins of a certain country, period, year, etc. I'm very interested in what kind of coins you are collecting now.

I'm purely a mint and year collector. I don't generally collect modern coins, almost all my sets are classic coins.

I have no error coins, I also don't collect varieties, while I have 2 completed Canadian sets, I collect mostly US currency.

At first, my world coin collection consisted of coins featuring animals, insects, fishes, reptiles and birds.
I now also collect ships, lighthouses, windmills, farm tractors, trains, famous people from history, well-known landmarks, and flowers.

My USA collection are coins of the past and collectible series (50 State Commemoratives; National Parks; U.S. Territories)

As I think about it, I'm kind of eclectic. I have a wide variety of coins and currency. My main two interests at the moment are US Large Cents (primarily later-date braided hair) and US Fractional Currency. I do have a couple other things I'm working on. I'm working on a set of Liberty Head Nickels (5 left), A set of Proof Silver Roosevelt dimes in PCGS holders (just started), and I'm 2 coins away from completing my set of Proof Ike dollars (I know were my other two coins are at, but I just need the store to re-open). And of course, I'm always open to anything that might peak my interest.

I just want ALL the coins on Earth. It's that simple, just all of them. Sounds like I'm a bit selfish not to allow others to have any but that is just me. The main problem with this is exactly what would I use to buy them with?

My main focus, if you can call it a focus, is 20th century world type coin collecting. However, I do dabble in just about everything from banknotes to some date series to exonumia.

I don't have any special theme per se, I'll collect just about anything that catches my eye and fits into my budget. The only thing I actively pursue now is keeping up with my current sets (Small dollars, Kennedy halves, ect.). If I go to a show and see any coins I really like and can afford, then I'll go ahead and add them. That being said, I am most attracted to classic American silver.

I collect mostly classic US coinage and am working on the best type set I can afford at the moment. But I have been known to drool at the sight of a flashy Mexican peso or a Canadian silver too!

As I wind down from active collecting I plan to continue seeking out Barber dimes to improve
my complete set. The Barber Nickels ("V" Nickels) may get another look-see.
I have several older US coins I keep as types.
A FEW modern US coins. And a bunch of foreign coins which will eventually get my attention.

Note to fplagge:
Your collecting interests are what are called "topical."
Long popular among stamp collectors it is equally appropriate for world coin collectors.

I started out collecting old British coins from c1800 to the present day, but I got bored (pre-ebay it was pretty hard to find what you were looking for), and I was only looking for the few remaining expensive key dates - so I ended up collecting world coins by type and have had much more fun :)
Rest in Peace

I like all U.S. coins because I'm into little round metal dingies . Never did get involved with those rectangle shaped Federal paper stuff .

I never really thought about my theme. If I had to summarize in one sentence: I like building sets.

My main focus is world coins. Though being in the US, I have a far few of those as well. :)

Kingdon of Poland OFEY/OFER, Duchy of Lorraine type coins, Duchy of Brabant type coins and early dated coins. (These categories all end by 1795)

And coins with images of saints.
