I liked these so much I ordered 3 more....$10 liberty random dates PCGS-au58. Always pleased to get 19th century dates at a low premium over bullion.

Nice! I've found that rising bullion prices bring the collectable coins out of the woodwork. Not the rare ones but the unusual ones.

When I started going to pick up some old gold like this, I couldn't believe how little they cost beyond bullion. Very little numismatic value at all. Which I think is one of the great bargains in all of coindom. Nice grabs!

If you want a truly rare eagle like an 1861-S you will pay dearly for it. But a 1900-S is a bullion coin, if you can find one. Most of the low mintage 1890's O mints are bullion coins too, and they aren't as plentiful as they were six months ago. Any of them are more interesting than a 1901-S or an 1881-P, which are available by the bushel.

Nice! As collectors, we see more than the metal. We see the history and beauty of the coins, too. Like you, I'd rather have classic gold than the ugly modern gold commems any day.
