Hello Coin Community
I have a few Liberty Dimes but the 1045 W is in the best shape. Can you tell me if its worth investing my limited funds to get it appraised?

This is a test: Do you know what that "W" stands for?

This is a common coin and in circulated grade is valued based on the silver content. It is a nice collectible coin but is worth $2 at most in this condition.
The "W" on the front is actually the designer initials. The mint mark if any is on the reverse side.

If you don't have any coin reference material, you can always google the dates/mint marks of your remaining liberty dimes to see if any of them are rare. Certainly don't want to see you spending $$ getting coins appraised when they aren't worth it.

Unless a coin will fetch 150.00 when sold, the grading costs are too steep. As to the "W" - this is the designer's initials "AW." All dimes of this type have that on them. Yours is a common date and a circulated specimen. It would likely sell for melt value.

If you're posting coins here asking for opinions, post pictures of both sides of the coin. This is especially true of Mercury dimes, where certain details on the reverse are important in assessing a grade for it.
