2021 Crossing The Delaware Quarter Error(S)?

Well so far the past coins I had believed to have had errors were determined not to be, so my hope is that this will be my first...if not, I may need to consider getting a new hobby. Lol. I have a 2021 Crossing The Delaware Quarter that appears to have a few errors. If you could take a look at the areas I believe to be a little suspect and let me know if there is anything to it, I would really appreciate it. Thanks a bunch Report this Post to the Staff

In addition I'm also seeing a few die cracks and one large chip on Washington's forehead (which is attached to one of the cracks). Collecting since 1972. Learning from then on "Tell me and I forget. Earle42 Bedrock of the Community United States 10038 Posts	Posted 05/18/2022 10:52 pm Some help to keep from getting discouraged: Save Yourself time, effort, and disappointment...don't learn the coin hobby backwards. Looking for random anomalies on coins and hoping they match up to something collectable will take you a lot more time, wasted effort, and disappointment repeatedly finding out you have nothing but post mint damage or useless Machine Doubling, Die Deterioration, etc. Spend some initial time at places like error-ref.com, doubleddie.com, varietyvista.com, conecaonline.org, coppercoins.com etc. to find what actual and collectable coin errors look like. A good way to start is, for instance, separate a bunch of pennies by date. Go to varietyvista.com and, date by date, use the reference there to see what errors are known for that specific coin/mint mark. Look for those specific errors/varieties using the pictures provided. After doing this for awhile you will KNOW what an actual error looks like and not have to waste time on face value and damaged coins. And then there are those unfortunate reeding hits on the obverse. Hint of die crack at the base of the bust. Good photos. Report this Post to the Staff

I had no idea what could have made those marks, but the reeded edge of another coin hitting it makes complete sense. I do appreciate all the references and plan on doing some research. coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 05/19/2022 3:10 pm Look at the sites to see where the locations of the doubled die are. Your looking in the wrong area for these. These are the single squeeze dies, so the location of a doubled die is on the center area of the design and not on the outer devices. They area you are looking at is where you will see die wear and Machine Doubling. So take a look to see what you should be looking for. (But no listing yet for this year) But when they are found it will be on the central areas of the designs. There may some die clash marks on your coin.
