These aren't my pics and the coin hasn't arrived. Pretty sure those big obverse scratches toward the top of the head are on the plastic, but there is that dig below the second "U" in Pluribus", and a couple of funny spots here and there. The 89cc is a hole I've never been able to fill till now. Probably overpaid a little. What say you?

Well, you seem pretty pleased. That's what matters. Nice pickup.

I think it just makes F12, better than many VG08 I see. Should be somewhere between $900 and $1500 in today's market. These aren't hard to find, just getting a really nice one (solid for the grade, certified and free of issues) can be difficult though. Looks like this one fits the bill for you.

That's a Fine one, pristine - infinitely better than the '89 CC that I don't have!
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

the small dig under the U is not a big deal. I was bouncing between F12 and F15. if the scratches are on the holder, which it looks like, I think the overall sharpness of the denticles, lettering and date along with the clean cheek and neck could push it over the line to F15 so thats my grade

I really like this coin! It has the textbook appearance you want in a lower grade Morgan. Great buy!
