I just learned through the YouTube channel Son of a Silver Stacker that the LESPS is done after this year. Kind of sad, since I have them all, and even made my "fantasy" 2015 set, since I didn't like that one year gap when it wasn't made. Well at least it'll free up money for special items they're sure to make next year. I have it on subscription, so I shouldn't have to worry about getting one. Too expensive to consider getting 2. If I were silly rich I'd get one and keep it sealed. Edited by Gilly 08/22/2025 09:41 am

It is an interesting set, but I never had an interest because of the price. I would have to really love the OGP, and this one did not hit for me like the Prestige proof sets of old. Maybe if I had a bigger budget? Regardless of my opinion, many will miss this set. I think it had a good run. I am more upset about the reverse proof innovation dollars coming to an end. I now wish I waited to buy the Dansco. Edit: I meant the regular proof, not reverse proof.

@jbuck:
The Innovation Dollar regular proof sets are kaput after this year. . .I just checked the USM web site. . .where are you seeing the Innovation Reverse Proof Set series is also going to be cancelled ? Thanks.

@Gilly: The Mint shows nearly 25,000 of the 2024 version available to sell and the product Limit was 50,000. For what it's worth: The Mint appears to be sitting on huge numbers of 2024 Silver Coins: Uncirculated ASE ( 54,000 ); Peace UNC ( 117,000 ); Peace Proof ( 142,000 ); Morgan UNC ( 109,000 ); and Morgan Proof ( 124,000 ).

I used to collect the normal silver proof sets annually (admittedly just to own the half). But when, I think it was 2020?) the mint greedily DOUBLED their prices (I expected small incremental increases as they did periodically), I just could not think about the sets anymore without thinking of such an, IMO, price gouging move. It soured me to finishing the set for the last 5 years but am thinking of doing it now.
But having a specialty area like you do with having all of these is a great way to enjoy the hobby. I especially like how you said you made up your own fantasy set for 2015. I don't like having "holes" in a set like this when the mint has skipped years. I used to collect the proof ASEs annually and actually bought one of the Daniel Carr 2009 overstrikes to fill that "hole."
I bet laying out all those sets to enjoy them all at once is quite a site to see!

@jbuck: The regular Innnovation Dollar Proof sets outsold the Reverse Proof versions last year: approximately 64,800 to 35,100. It wouldn't be a shock if the USM announced the discontinuation of the Reverse Proofs also, when we get closer to the 2025 set's release date.

Them they should just cancel the whole program. I have zero interest in buying bags or rolls to get the uncirculated ones. I was building an album from the proof and reverse proof sets. Oh well.

I like the innovation program but it is a pain. They really hammered you on price for it as well after the first year.

Oh well. Yeah kinda stinks. I really hope they don't cancel the RP set too but seems inevitable. The LESPS cancellation doesn't affect me but is a bummer for folks that collected.

Quote: I especially like how you said you made up your own fantasy set for 2015. I did a post on that, it is probably in the long thread I have about my OGP set. I can repost here or link you to it if you want. That COA I made (yes there's a coa!) was easy in concept to make, a little harder in execution. I used 2016 OGP, that was the first year of the individually encapsulate coins, and '15 was bridging the gap between the old style and new style OGP, so I felt I could go either way, and the new way was the easiest. I did have to modify the outer sleeve, it turned out "ok". Not fooling anyone nor am I trying. The coins were easy, just essentially needed a proof 2015 ASE and a silver proof set to get the quarters, half dollar, and dime from. I also needed the correct Mint capsules. Quote: I used to collect the proof ASEs annually and actually bought one of the Daniel Carr 2009 overstrikes to fill that "hole." I just have mine in a case in their OGP boxes, so the lack of one doesn't really bother me (lacking 2 years they didn't make Uncirculated, same thing). Quote: The LESPS cancellation doesn't affect me but is a bummer for folks that collected. It's ok, at least now I can decide to store them all together somehow, no more future sets to worry about, just like the white folder congrats sets. Now they just go with the rest of the proofs. Quote: I used to collect the normal silver proof sets annually I did to. Either '23 or '24 was my last. Forget it, at that price. I know I don't get the nickel or cent with the LESPS, but I just had to give up something, and you know I want that set because if the ASE, so the proof set got the axe, not my Limited Edition set! I probably will not return to the silver proof set. I've actually started selling off my proof sets starting with the older ones.

Quote: Yes it is. And you can skip right to it here Thanks for doing that! Ok, but the other moderators have all elected me to have a little talk with you. You just have to tone down the awesomeness about 1/3rd. Everyone else thinks they have to try to keep up with you, and it's becoming a burden. I know it will take some effort to do, but you CAN do it. Maybe try backing it down 10%, then try for 1/4. I'll be watching you. -33% awesomeness.

Quote: This years Superman 1 oz silver get this it shows 71,977 available This probably belongs on that thread, not this one, and probably will get moved to the correct thread soon. I don't really keep track of that superhero/Marvel, whatever that exactly is. I guess you're saying that they aren't selling very well, but the Morgan-Peace series are. I think that's possibly because mostly, the US Mint customers, other than the graders and flippers, are more interested in traditional type of numismatic products. I don't think their traditional collector type customers are going to bite. I also don't think that the intended target for these coins and medals are really going to see the appeal or logic in spending that much (especially the coin). I think someone at the mint is basically off their rocker in producing these. Let the private mints make these as rounds, that's just what they look like.
