Looks artificial to me. However, natural or artificial the reverse is more pleasant than the obverse.

Peace dollars often achieve unpleasant toning. This one appears unusually good.

It is nice toning, and after another look, I'd say it was natural - there is an area at K4 where another dollar coin was resting on it as the rest of the exposed are toned out.

Since a typical NGC-graded MS-64 1922 Peace dollar is worth around $70, that's quite a premium for the toning!
