Thought I'd share the scan of my completed Liberty nickels Set with y'all. Granted, there's not a show stopper in the whole bunch, but I'm cool with that.....it's another completed set, and I've enjoyed putting it together. Ralph

Congratulations! I've got a few Liberty Nickles but haven't really focused on putting a set together. How long did it take you?

Smart move going for the lower grades--you've probably saved up enough to get a 1913!
Seriously, though, I appreciate a set like this. I'm a hole filler, and a set like this shows that coin collecting is accessible to everyone.

Congratulations! Even in the low grades your coins are in I'm sure it wasn't cheap to fill the 1885, 1886, and 1912S holes!

Very nice! I had a Liberty nickel bug a year or two ago, but then ended up selling them. Your 1885 actually looks better than average grade wise compared to the rest of the set, which is unusual as often that one is the piece that folks "compromise" on because of the cost. Anyways, that is a very fun set to complete and one to be proud of! Congrats!

First off.....let me thank everyone for responding. I have to be truthful - with the exception of the 1885, 1886, and the 1912S,I didn't really put that much concentratation into this set - picked up one here and one there over the past four years or so without concern as to grade - just thought it was a kinda cool set to work on (off and on) and really didn't care so much about value as completing the set which I have done. As for the 1913.....don't think that one will ever see the inside of my house. :) In all honesty, the majority of the coins in my collection is circulated. I like them (as does my wallet). To me, a circulated coin has a history to it; whereas, a coin that has been sitting in a vault for years is just that - a coin that has been sitting in a vault for years. I doubt I'll worry about upgrading the set - as I said, I've not really put that much concentration into it - just put in the bank box, and pass it on to somebody else when I'm gone...let them worry about value, upgrading, or whatever. Anyway, I'm happy to have completed this set - brings my total completed sets (mostly circulated) to twenty, and I'm probably as happy with my circulated sets as someone who collects only the best.....lot less stress and worry, too, I betcha.

Johnny54321, the scans I have saved in mu 'puter were scanned at 600 dpi, and, even reduced, they're still too large for the CCF Forum. I don't keep the coins at home - got 'em in a box at the bank...they're not really, really valuable, but worth enough that I sleep better knowing they're not here in the house. I can't, right now, post pics, but I can list them - Peace dollars, Ike dollars, SBA Dollars, ASE Dollars, Sacagawea dollars, Presidential dollars, Barber halves, WL Halves, Franklin halves, Kennedy halves, Washington quarters, Statehood Quarters, Barber dimes, Mercury dimes, Roosevelt dimes, Liberty nickels, Buffalo nickels, Jefferson nickels, Lincoln Memorial Cents, and a Dansco 7070 Type Album. That's pretty much it for completed sets so far. I do have some others that are close, but lacking the key dates - may get them completed, and I may not. Like everybody else, for me, money is a big factor in what I can, and can't have. Ralph
