Could be! Went to our "neighborhood market" Walmart hoping to get a rotisserie chicken but it turns out they don't have them there. I checked the CoinStar reject slot on my way out and found some coins: a couple Zincolns, a dime, a nickel, two Euro cents, a modern Chinese copper coin, and this: Weight is correct, design elements all look right, reeded edge is intact with no blemishes. An actual gold coin from 1875, from the Walmart CoinStar. I'm happy!

Congrats, that is amazing find! My wife teases me for checking the CoinStar at Walmart, I've found a silver dime, quarter but most of the time nothing.

Wow, that is simply amazing! My best find so far is a steel cent. No silver yet, or gold for that matter. This is definitely one for the books.
Congrats!

Wow! How in the world can someone not see this in their coins and know it is unusual enough to check into? Glad they did not and that you got it! Amazing!

In terms of single-coin Coinstar finds, this one takes the cake, I think... Congrats, Jaobler!

This is one of the best finds I've ever seen! Congratulations! You should post this in the CoinStar thread.
