Thanks, Errers and jbuck. Customer-wrapped dime rolls are still my favorite kind of roll to search. Correspondingly, I found another hoard of silver dimes, among a set of a few dozen rolls containing mostly early 1970s and late 1960s clad coinage. One of these rolls contained 30 silver dimes, including a 1944-P Mercury, a dateless Edward VII Canadian dime (1902-1910), and a low-mintage 1955-P Roosevelt. The rest of the dimes in these two rolls were clad from 1967 and before. I was really hoping that 1955 was a Denver mintmark. If it was, it would complete my set of silver Roosevelt dimes obtained solely from circulation. But I can hardly complain about roughly $200 of free silver - and the hunt goes on.

I recently searched my 1000th box of dimes, for a total of 2.5 million coins searched. I've now found a total of 1,616 silver Roosevelt dimes, 295 Mercury dimes, 2 Barber dimes, 1 Seated Liberty dime, and 38 silver Canadian dimes. My 1000th box was uneventful. But box 997 contained 65 silver Roosevelts spread across about 20 rolls (see photo). Most were AU/MS coins from 1963 or 1964. As always, I concentrate on customer-wrapped rolls, making an exception for machine-wrapped rolls from a local distributor (Titan) which contains about as much silver as CWR. I avoid Brinks rolls, which contain very few silver coins (in my experience). I have almost an entire roll of 2009 coins. But I have not yet found the 1982 no mintmark. Perhaps it slipped by as I typically edge search only, but that's the cost of my methods. The benefit is higher volume. I enjoy customer-wrapped dimes and have arrangements with several tellers to purchase boxes of accumulated rolls before they are shipped out. I expect to continue searching, and I'll be looking out for the new 2026 dimes once they begin to circulate.

I've had some good experiences with customer wrapped dime rolls myself.

Yesterday I exchanged 10 rolls of dimes I already had searched at a nearby BoA branch where several months ago I acquired a CWR of uncirculated 1969 Kennedy half dollars. When the teller gave me the new dime rolls, I could tell that one of them was in an old wrapper. Sure enough, both ends were silver Roosevelt dimes. In fact, this roll contained 53 silver coins! Half of the dimes were minted between 1948 and 1959 -- and the roll contained seven coins struck at the San Francisco mint. Six of the dimes were in better condition than the Roosevelt dimes in my coin collection. The icing on the cake was finding two more silver dimes in the other CWRs. A nice way to kick off the new year. As usual, I showed my appreciation to the teller by giving her a few Starbucks gift cards.
