Excuse the brag pose, but I've been working on this set for a long time, and the final piece arrived in the mail this morning. I've attached pictures (which I know aren't great). For those who can't see, the grades are as follows: 1937 - MS 65 Red 1938 - MS 65 Red 1939 - MS 66 Red 1940 - MS 65 Red 1941 - MS 65 Red 1942 - MS 64 Red 1943 - MS 65 Red 1944 - MS 64 Red 1945 - MS 65 Red 1946 - MS 65 Red 1947 - MS 65 Red 1947 ML Pointed - MS 65 Red 1947 ML Blunt - MS 65 Red 1948 Points - MS 64 Red Cameo 1948 Between - MS 64 Red 1949 Points - MS 63 Red and Brown 1949 Between - MS 65 Red 1950 - MS 65 Red 1951 - MS 65 Red 1952 - MS 65 Red Now it's on to the upgrades... Nice job, very impressive, I just looked at mine, which are not all that red and noticed I had also snuck in a Newfoundland small cent for 1938, 1940, 1941C, 1942, 1943C, 1944C and 1947C. The reside next to the same year Canada cents in order by year in my album. I guess there were no 39's 45's or 46's. I barely remember doing this. Thanks for making me take a look. LOL My collection is all about copper brass and bronze coinage that circulated in Canada from Colonial up to 2012. Are you moving on to Elizabeth II next?

Yes, I already have Elizabeth well underway (only need 5 more to complete my set). I'm shooting for MS-65 in the early 1950s, MS-66 from 1960-1998, and MS-67 from 1999-2012. I'm finding it easier said than done.

This is an amazing looking set. Most of my life I lived just south of the border and so collected Canadian coins also. Although I have seen a lot of Canadian cents, this is the first one of this high of a quality I have ever seen. Thanks for sharing.

Quite the set. Concerning upgrades, do want everything at least MS65?

My first coin collection as a kid in the mid 1960s was Canadian pennies (oops one cent coins). Most are not mint and it is not my most valuable domination today but I have a soft spot in my heart for these coins so thank you for sharing.

That is one beautiful set. I only wish I had one half as nice.

Nicely done Skelly! A question from someone who knows little about Canadian coins: why did they continue with an earlier monarch after they produced coins with the latest one? I always thought the portrait matched the current ruler?

Thanks for the feedback. I hope to someday have MS-65 across the board, but the 1944 and the 1949 Points are going to make that a very expensive challenge.
TheNickelGuy, I have no plans to complete the George V set at this point. I like a uniform collection, and I can't afford the key dates in the grades I want. I think my next challenge (after Elizabeth) will be to go after the George VI Specimen cents.
Bump111, as far as I know they never went back to an old ruler after production started on the new ruler. Sometimes it took a while for the mint dies to catch up to the reigning monarch (which is why there are 1936 George V cents, and 1952 George VI cents, even though both kings died very early in those years.

Ah, that makes sense. So, did they mint 1952s with Elizabeth and George?
