Mine are just a few coins and a $20 note that my mom gave me. She gave me a 2006 $20 SOI note in a birthday card not even knowing it was a collectible note because of the note being an SOI note. It was for my b-day in 2010, she passed before my 2011 b-day so it was the last b-day gift she ever gave me. She also gave me a LMC dated 1962-D because that's my birth year,it isn't in very good condition but I will still keep it,she had to use a magnifier to see the date because of her weak eye sight.Years ago she gave me a Mercury dime she got in change.I plan on keeping them all. I have somewhere around 20 Morgans?Peace that my Great Great Grandma gave to me when I was really young they are the reason I started collecting. They are more protected than most of my more expensive ones cause they mean that much more to me. She also gave me a few 1911 D Barber dimes that I love because that was her birth year.

1943/2 Jefferson nickel that I sent in and had slabbed by ANACS. Came back as VF/damaged...which is the correct grade. Found this roll searching with my mom...about 1991. She has passed on as well. So, without a doubt, THIS damaged Jefferson is my most cherished coin.

Roll searching with your mom, that's awesome. :D I have a couple coins I associate with my maternal grandfather that I never met because he died before I was born. One is a crown from the Isle of Man, where he served in WWII. I've had that since I was very young. The other is a 1907 british penny which I just discovered on my last trip home. My mom thinks that he brought it home with him.

I actually have a pair, because that is how I received them. A pair of Eisenhower dollars (1976-D Variety 2 and 1977-D) given to me by my dad, which officially started my interest in coins as something other than just money.

Well, I would say three Walking Liberty halves: 1921, 1921-D and 1921-S. They were found in circulation by my father. And while I have had no problems selling his other coins, these three will be among the last to go. Just too nice. Dad had a custom of giving away 1909 Lincolns to new collectors. I have decided to follow the custom. These are the last that he accumulated. Here is the link: https://goccf.com/t/131607

mine's a 1771 Danish 1/4 skilling, found as a child while picking potatoes from the ground my dad dug up in our small patch of potatoes.

I have a gold Maple and a columbian Half that are pretty special to me. They were gifts from family members. I also don't have many of either. So at least for the time being it's easy to know how I came to possess these 2 coins and that makes them more special for me.

An 1896 Morgan that my Grandma had placed in her cradle upon her birth. She left it to me.

185? FEC given to me by my grandfather that sparked my interest in coin collecting. Date is completely gone unless I can find someone to restore it. My 1878 CC Morgan is also sentimental as it is the first coin I remember purchasing with my own money.

acloco, I can see why you cherish this coin. Around 1969, my father took me to the bank and purchased 5 dollars in penny rolls so I could go through them. This was the first and last time I ever roll searched. I found around 8 Wheats but back then, had no knowledge of errors. I think I'll try it again in the near future. As for my most cherished coin, this would have to be the two-headed 1964 Kennedy half dollar. It sat in my fathers miniature treasure chest jewelry box and I played with that coin and admired it all the time. When I was home sick, I'd go in his room and sneak a look at the few coins he had stashed in there. He also had a nickel plated 1941 Lincoln Penny. I thought I still had it but was unable to locate this little personal treasure. I still have the two headed half.

Mine .. will be the next big coin I purchase. I am not just saying that .. because it is the nest big coin.
I was talking with my father, a couple months ago, about my 7070 type set .. how I am getting close to completing the gold page. I told I wanted to purchase a 1932 $10.00 Indian, because it is the year my father was born. I think he has gotten more excited about me getting this coin than I am. He asks me at least once a week if I have found one yet. I have $1,100 put away for the coin, but have not found just the right one yet. I will have to put a little more with what I have put away for this purchase.
But I am sure I will get one in the next couple weeks, then get the last three smaller gold coins to finish the 7070. Of course then I will have to plan a trip to Michigan to show my father the 1932 gold coin I put into my favorite set .. just for him.

Out of all the USA & World errors I have, none have any senitmental other then to be sold when the time comes for my grandchildrens college...
Seperate from my coins is a small currency collection that belonged to my Grandparents (my grandfather died in 1956 & grandmother in 1970) that I traded a PCGS MS62 St. Gauldens with my Uncle back in 2002... The retail value on the Double Eagle was about $425 back then... The Currency I received were multi-denominations of Silver Certificates, Legal Tender Notes, Type 1 & 2 National Currency, Early Federal Reserve Notes with 1 or 2 that were backed in Gold (series 1928) and 2 EF/AU Series 1928 Ten Dollar Gold Certificates... I made a provision in my will that this collection must remain in the family as this is Currency from my grandchildrens great-great-grandparents and I would love to have it remain in the family...

Broken-Coin, If I remember right didn't you get your user name when one of your kids looked at one of your error coins and called it a "Broken Coin"? That coin would be sentimental to me if I was in your shoes. If you still have that coin I would add it to the currency and keep it too. IMHO of course. John1
